Play Your First Song
"Dude.  This is what I've been dying to do, like, FOREVER!"
Now THAT is the sort of thing you'll say when you finally experience what I feel is an essential part of your guitar journey.

What is it?

It's this:
Experience Your "Over the Hump Moment” (Or You’re Screwed)
Cool story: You already know our famed instructor Marty Schwartz …

… what you may NOT know is that his first teacher was so lame that Marty nearly gave up guitar for good at age 13 before he ever had a chance to really get going.

It’s an all-too-common story, except this one (fortunately) has an unusually happy ending …

Basically, Marty’s first teacher was a frustrated musician stuck in a guitar store ...

... who didn't really want to teach period ...

... didn't even seem to particularly like kids (never mind patiently teach them) ...

...never even asked Marty what his interests were ...

... and didn't seem too concerned that Marty was — as Marty himself once put it — "intimidated as hell.”

Not exactly a teacher-student arrangement made in heaven.

This guy’s teaching playbook, in fact, seemingly consisted of only two steps:

(1) Force the student to do one-note scales ...

and ...

(2) Play bad nursery rhymes.
But check out what happened next ...
A few years later, Marty got in a band with some friends … playing harmonica of all things (and got pretty good, too).

Anyway, Marty had this huge realization one day …

His friends that he thought were such hotshot, experienced guitar players?

They were doing all that ... with just a few simple chord shapes!

Talk about a "EUREKA" moment ...
Marty was like, "Dude, this is what I’ve been wanting to do forever!”

And so the guys showed Marty some basic chords and rhythm ... and, bam, he was off like a ROCKET, playing complete songs like a champ and never looking back.
So ... What Will Be YOUR "Get Over the Hump" Moment?
More importantly ...

... how will you even find it?

And WHO will help you get there?

This also points out the importance of finding the right teacher ... FOR YOU.
When you find the right teacher — right for YOU — everything becomes sooooo much easier.

I say that for the following reasons:
  •  You’re much more likely to “show up”
  •  You’ll be more accountable
  •  You’ll have more FUN
  •  “Having a teacher” allows you to tune out the noise so that you can FOCUS
  •  You get the STRUCTURE YOU NEED while retaining the fun factor
  •  You learn to play complete songs sooner if you have the right teacher
